Babymetal begs to differ. Just kidding XD One Ok Rock is quite popular. Katy Perry liked Kyary Pamyu Pamyu :P

I'm talking about in the broad sense the culture. The music Kpop is more popular in niche, but Japanese culture is more known with the general public imo. We have many Japanese and Chinese restaurants. But no Korean. I can buy more easily Japanese and Chinese Movies DVD. People who looks into bookstore may have a clue what it's mangá = comics. Talking about people who spend hours inside one. I do have a couple of Korean movies in dvd.

Ask about famous asian actors/actress people will say Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Lucy Liu... no Korean. Books? I can only find here Japanese or Chinese writers. And North Koreans writers talking about escaping the country. I'm talking about my perspective in not an asian country in a city with no asian.

The thing is with Jpop you have to know where to look. People are way more scared with copyright. And Japan never cared to get bigger 'cause they don't need and the other... Kpop subs is with the mainstream. I don't think people care about indies, the krock. The Jpop 48/46 and Johnnies have some subs they're the mainstream ones. Unfortunately solo singers are ignored. Subs from drama I don't follow because I'm lazy in watching hahahaha either way it doesn't matter I'm happy that Jpop is smaller because no stupid fights. Some Kpop fans can be tiresome. I prefer this way lol

I know why are they always surprised? They need to travel more lol
